WK #2 - The rollercoaster, the eclipse and more

That rollercoaster of emotions is back in play. At this moment, it's like I'm approaching the big climb before the exhilarating descent.

For the past week, I've thought about the Solar Eclipse and literally planned for the worse possible scenario (no cell service, standstill traffic, inability to perform my jobs of pick up and safe arrival at the hospital for delivery) no thanks to a conversation from Saturday night. I had a plan to charge my golf cart if needed and take off on the People Trail to perform my role.

After I had a tight plan in place, I thought what a cool story to tell Cohen that he was born during totality! Well, Monday came and went and thankfully, my "tight" plan did not have to be executed, because Cohen didn't come.

Yesterday was an appointment day. We started off with an ultrasound which is now predicting Cohen at 8lbs. 7ozs. YIKES!!! My little guy might not be quite so little. So far, no mention of inducing or a planned c-section. For those who know me, I have a very strong Type A personality. This experience and wait is a good test. Ideally, we would pick a date, arrive at the hospital and I could prepare for the climax of the ascent prior to the g-force descent.

Today is a special day. My grandma Bert would be celebrating her birthday. I quickly decided this would be the perfect day for Cohen to be born. I could imagine myself sharing stories about her and explain how she and God worked out a plan for his arrival because she always liked to be the center of attention and now he could be too. Well, as I'm typing and sharing my thoughts to all of you, I realize it's almost 7 pm ET and today isn't likely either.

My mind is going 180 mph and I go from 0-60 on this rollercoaster faster than my Tesla (3 seconds). I completely go into a corkscrew on this ride and think...

OOOOMMMMMGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEE this is really happening and can I really do this? I know I can, but between the unknown, the anticipation, and the pure joy, I can't believe that the ride is coming to a close. While it is the most exciting ride I've ever been on, I am ready for this one to end and move on to the next one.

Yesterday was the last pre-birth doctor's appointment I will attend with the bio mom. The decision was made to schedule a c-section due to the baby's size. We all agreed that this is the safest route
