As cliche as it may sound, I really do believe that Chirstmas is the best time of the year! I absolutely love decorating, buying and wrapping presents, the hustle and bustle, Christmas carols, and spending time with family and friends. There's a real joy that overwhelms me during this holiday. I think it's the extra effort everyone makes to be happy and kind.
This year, I am way ahead of schedule. All the presents are purchased, all are wrapped (except for the ones that have not yet arrived), and Christmas cards have been sent. This is defninitely not the norm. Usually, I am still trying to figure out what to get for my team, paying extra for expedited shipping, and waiting to wrap until the week prior to Christmas. I can safely say, there is a sense of relief that all of this is done and I am now able to relax.
I'm looking forward to hosting my family for Christmas. My mom's youngest sister and her kids will be coming. I hope that we can go to mass on Christmas Eve and out to dinner. This has been our family's tradition. The rest of the evening is spent helping my aunt wrap her gifts and watching the holiday classics: A Christmas Story, White Christmas, Christmas Vacation, and a variety of others.
Although I'm an adult, there is still something magical about Christmas morning. The belief in Santa traveling to all the homes, keeping an eye out and making a list. I can't wait to have the opportunity to share the magic of Christmas with a little one. But more important than the anticipation of Santa, will be the opportunity to share the Christmas story of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus.
It truly is a magical time of the year on many different levels. I'm HOPEFUL that I will some day get my Christmas miracle. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
