Showered with love

This past weekend was one to put in the memory book. My Aunt Ree, Aunt Amy, cousin Laura, and cousin Sydney threw an amazing baby shower that included so many friends and family members. It was the perfect affirmation of all the love and support I've felt throughout this journey. I cannot begin to describe the feeling I have knowing that I have an entire village to welcome Cohen into this world.

Saturday was another milestone in that the

bio mom, attended the shower as well. It was the first time for my parents, extended family and friends to meet her. To witness those introductions, smiles, and hugs completely warmed my heart. I cannot stop looking at the pictures and knowing that not only is Cohen going to be a new addition to the family, his birth mother will be too. I cannot express my gratitude to everyone who has prayed for and welcomed her into our circle.

We capped Saturday off by visiting the bio mom's family after the shower. I had the pleasure of meeting her mom and great aunt. I thoroughly loved the visit getting to know more about their family, their values, and to hear what the bio mom was like as a child. It is important to me that Cohen knows his biological family just as he knows his biographical family. I'm sure some people are curious about how I will make this work, and my answer to them is I can't imagine it any other way.

In other news, the birth plan is finalized. We have our pre-birth call and another check-up appointment on April 2nd. On April 3rd, I am starting birthing classes at CRH. I highly doubt that I get all 4 weeks in prior to Cohen's arrival, but at least it's a start. I don't know that any first-time parent is ready for the birth of a child, but I think I'm as prepared as I can be to this point. It's hard to believe that his due date is exactly 30 days from today. I can't wait to meet my little guy and introduce him to all of you!

Huge shout out to:

Yesterday was the last pre-birth doctor's appointment I will attend with the bio mom. The decision was made to schedule a c-section due to the baby's size. We all agreed that this is the safest route
