Count down is on!

The bio mom is now 36 weeks and 3 days. We started attending weekly appointments today, 4/2. She is 1 cm dilated and is measuring on track. Unfortunately, the baby is not in position yet, so we will have an ultrasound next Tuesday in addition to her regular appointment to see how he's growing and his position so we can plan accordingly.

We also had our pre-birth call with the hospital today. She finalized her birth plan last week, which I am beyond grateful for her decisions. She is the most selfless person I know. She decided and shared the following in her plan:

  • I get to be in the delivery room

  • I get to cut the umbilical cord

  • I get to hold the baby first

  • I get to do skin to skin contact

For those of you reading who have met her, I hope you sensed the kind-hearted, caring person that she is. For those of you who have not, I hope that through this blog I've given you a sense of who she is. Please keep her in your prayers as she and I continue this journey. I can't imagine her feelings, but I believe she knows and trusts that she will always have a place in our family. I also ask for prayers that our little guy will cooperate because the bio mom does not want a c-section.

If life goes as planned, I hope to update this weekly until Cohen arrives. I cannot wait to welcome him into the world and introduce him to all of you!

Yesterday was the last pre-birth doctor's appointment I will attend with the bio mom. The decision was made to schedule a c-section due to the baby's size. We all agreed that this is the safest route
